Editorial Review:
Product Description: Since its first edition in 1964, owners and professionals have relied upon this classic reference to understand the many facets of fiberglass boat construction. Now completely updated, it is an invaluable, nontechnical resource for expert information on the principles of fiberglass construction, as well as sound practice. Author Hugo du Plessis focuses on the kind of boats that dominate the used market, examining fiberglass's durability, weaknesses, effects of use, and the latest research into causes of blistering--or osmosis. His advice will help owners extend the life of their fiberglass boats and prevent would-be owners from purchasing craft that are soon to fail.

When it comes to fiberglass, Mr. Du Plessis is the man to learn from. I know, I've been anchored next to him in Trinidad many times and have attended a couple of his lectures. Hugo has to be the most passionate person on the planet when it comes to fiberglass. He's got a thing or two to say about the cruising community, sailors, the weather and may even spin a yarn or two if you've a mind to listen as well. He is a font of knowledge and fortunately he's written the best book on fiberglass boats out there. A few bucks and a read of this tome could save you thousands of dollars when that expert in the shipyard tries to convince you to peal your boat.
