Editorial Review:

Product Description:
This revision of the market-leading book maintains its classic strengths: contemporary approach, flexible chapter construction, clear exposition, and outstanding problems. Like its predecessors, this revision is written from the viewpoint of the applied mathematician, focusing both on the theory and the practical applications of Differential Equations as they apply to engineering and the sciences.

Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - As expected and described
The book is clean, looks brand new, and even smells new--as it was described. No discernible marks or damage of any kind.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Fundamental Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems
This product was delivered to me promptly, in exceptional condition, and has proven to be a crucial tool for my Differential Equations Class. I would highly recommend it to others who are taking similar courses.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - It would be better to use a different book
Everyone I have talked to dislikes this book, although perhaps for different reasons.

I find the style opaque because it never clearly defines its terms or states results with precision (it goes without saying that it hardly proves anything). That is, it's not presenting sufficiently rigorously. Others find the style opaque because it's not presented sufficiently intuitively. The book is organized in surprisingly long paragraphs and typically states in words what would be much clearler ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - This book sucked!
If you're a math major, DON'T buy this book! Buy Ordinary Differential Equations by Morris Tenenbaum & Harry Pollard instead - an amazing book!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Perfect.
Perfect condition. Got it from "The Book Depository" which I guess is located in the UK. And it got here in less than a week. As a college student, this is the first book I've purchased online, and I have to say I am extremely satisfied. The price is 1/3 of what I would have paid at my university's bookstore. And that's just for a new one. I probably could have gotten a used one for 1/100 of what I would have paid otherwise. Extremely satisfied.
