Product Description:
Make your boat shine again
No improvement to a tired-looking boat will have a more dramatic impact than refinishing, and few tasks are easier. Here is everything you need to achieve a fabulous finish on your fiberglass boat’s bottom, topsides, deck, spars, wood trim, and belowdeck surfaces while saving time, money, and grief.
What reviewers have said about Don Casey's boat maintenance books:
“Astonishingly clear text and illustrations. The reader can almost feel the hand-holding this book provides through each step.”--Dockside
“I own many books filled with advice, but I strongly suspect that this is the one I will consult most.”--Sailing
“Casey makes tricky points clear in hundreds of illustrations and lively prose.”--SailNet
“If you have an older sailboat, you need this book.”--The Ensign

Great book -- contains enough information for beginners and seasoned sailors alike. It is worth it's weight in gold for the many tips on how to make my 40 year old sailboat look like new.

Takes the guess work out of DIY projects with its well written explanations and easy to follow instructions with accompanying photographs - a must have for those of us starting out with older boats.

I was overjoyed to finally read the actual process for using some of the chemicals needed to strip and refinish the wood on my husband's boat. When you buy the materials the instructions are very vague and even the warnings don't include disposal or environmental hazards. Don Casey writes like he is talking to you and explains details only someone working on a boat would need to know. Great book.

Book is perfect for anyone about to embark on a project boat or one who may be testing the water to see how well prepared you need to be. The book indicates what is necessary to have on hand in order to re-do a sailboat. Having just begun my boat refinishing, I can say I personally took a number of bits of advice into consideration and these may have saved me time and money already. Cheap insurance and a great mentor to have in hand as you get ready.

Similar to other books in the series. Style wise, this is the opposite of The Sailmaker's Apprentice by Marino. This is not a book to pick up while sitting by the fire sipping tea. It is a great reference book with concise "how to" information. Good explanations of both materials and techniques - including safety.
